The Conley Family
They credit their service tech, Craig Wichael who made that transition a great experience. The Conleys say Craig is always making poultry farming a learning experience with the grandkids.
Derrick and Pam Conley of Dry Run Farm have been growing chickens for George's for four years. Pam is a 3rd generation farmer, and they share their farm with their three children, their spouses, and five grandchildren. Elijah, Everitt and Tessa are the older grandkids and help out the most with working in the poultry houses.
The Conleys strive to grow the best birds they can from the day they arrive to the day they leave. No two flocks the same, so its always a learning experience. They admit that when they started growing birds for George's they were anxious about being responsible for 90,000 baby chicks and learning all the in's and out's to poultry farming.
Pam says her father passed down his love for this life and Pam can see that same love in her children and her grandchildren. "Teaching them the importance of conserving the farmland and the importance of growing what you eat is extremely important to me," said Pam.
The Conleys say it's very rewarding knowing they are growing a product that will help feed a family. At the end of the day they can smile knowing they made a difference!
