The Troxell Farm
Broc and Ashley Troxell have been raising turkeys for Cargill since 2023. The Troxell children have grown up learning responsibility, work ethic, patience, and determination on the farm. Each child plays a role on the farm, from tending turkeys, planting crops, feeding cattle, or fixing fences. Farming is their way of life, and they do it all together.
The Troxells, who were awarded Grower of the Year for 2024, use many BMPs including a nutrient management plan, cover crops, storm water retention, and they are working diligently to add a litter storage facility. Their farm operates with modern technology, ensuring that the birds are kept in optimal conditions. Biosecurity and animal welfare protocols are paramount.
While the addition of poultry has given them a more diversified farm, their greatest pleasure in farming is that they can do it together. Broc and Ashley know that agriculture is always changing, and they need to adapt to meet the needs of the world and help their bottom line. They hope to continue their family farm for generations to come!
